Rambling Heart combine devised theatre, traditional storytelling and original music to rework the myth of the boy who flew too close to the sun.
In a world undergoing rapid industrial and technological progress, (King) Minos, a business magnate, fears intimacy but longs for a son. His social-climbing wife, Pasiphae, seeks a career that will satisfy. Local girl Alexa finds love with the famous designer, Mr Daedalus, but Daedalus is being driven mad by his own masterpiece. As each tries desperately to achieve their dreams, their lives intertwine - and implode.
Meanwhile, Alexa’s son, Icarus, is building a dream of his own: a means of escape that will take him out and up into the bright blue sky.
Examining the forces that drive us to go faster, be better and, eventually, to burn out, we ask: What does it really mean to achieve your dreams?
